Meet the Maker

Shelly L. Francis is an author, speaker, metaphortographer, and author/creativity coach, who created her first Emotikin in 2003. Having forgotten how to play and feel carefree, the Emotikin brought her back to life. They began enjoying photoshoots and blogging for soul sustenance and fun, and are now happy to share Emotikin cards, with books in the works. Author of The Courage Way (Berrett-Koehler, 2018) and Damocles’ Wife (Two Louise Press, 2012), Shelly is the founder/publisher at Creative Courage Press in Colorado, where she is collaborating with other authors to create more courage for the complexity of being human. Emotikin and I went to Ouray with a dear friend to work on our Supposing card deck, the early version. Sometimes you just have to get out of your regular office and somewhere totally new to open the floodgates of creative flow and inspiration.
